MURAL CONNECTIONS

Tunde works with a core group of students to create a mural exploring a themes approved by the school. Emphasis are on the use of elements art such as use of color, line, shape, form, value, space and texture to create a visual narratives based on the students’ perception of the concept.
Students are guided through the process of developing ideas and sketches for mural concepts. All ideas generated by the students are used to develop a composition for the mural’s visual narrative.

The artist engages students in the process of preparing ground, color mixing, sketch transfer and painting techniques. Students are actively engaged in every aspect of the mural painting process.











This video captures the communty spirits and sensibilities during a community mural project with Tunde Afolayan Famous (Mural Artist) in Richmond County North Carolina. The murals were created during a Community Art Residency in Richmond County through a grant funded by NORTH CAROLINA ARTS COUNCIL. He worked with the community residents in Rockingham, NC to create three murals. The mural concepts explore the arts, history and agricultural resources of Richmond County. These murals are permanently installed at the RCAC building in Rockingham, North Carolina. http://www.tundevisualart.com/
